Country Information: Included in MOH guidelines. EC first registered in India in 2002. Total Contraceptive Prevalence: 48.2% (1998-1999, WHO). Unmet need for contraception among currently married women of reproductive age: 21.1% (2005, DHS). EC socially marketed by Population Services International and Marie Stopes International. Where EC is available: Over-the-counter in pharmacies. EC is available in the public sector. EC is available in social marketing/NGO facilities.
