Included in FP norms as of 2006, included in Sexual Violence Norms in 2004.

Where EC is available:
In April 2008, Constitutional Court ruled in favor of a motion to ban free distribution of EC in public family planning programs and services. EC is still available however, and can be purchased in pharmacies with a medical prescription. EC is also available in primary health clinics (as permitted by local legislation), in public and private hospitals, and emergency care clinics for sexual assault survivors. Levonorgestrel 0.75 was included in the Essential Drug List for MoH in 2006.

OptinorAsociacion Chilena de Proteccion de la Familia (APROFA) and ICON, the IPPF Member Association, are currently working on formal registration. An emeregency resolution has been received by APROFA from the Public Sanitary Institution to distribute Optinor until formal registration occurs.
